MARKETPLACE CHRISTIANITY REGIONAL SUMMIT - Richmond,VA

By matt | January 1, 2008

Dear Friend,Hi. My name is Chauncey Hutter, Jr and I’ve struggled for years as a Christian businessman wondering how God would have me live out my faith and honor Him in my workplace. For the longest time, I had a certain spiritual mindset at church on Sunday morning, but once I got back into the real world at work on Monday, God didn’t seem to be present.

THE GOOD NEWS: In my quest to answer the many lingering questions deep down in my soul, God’s Spirit turned my heart and He began answering many of the concerns and problems I was burdened by. The Lord filled many of the holes of frustration, uncertainty, guilt in my life and I began experiencing God at work like never before!

Are You A Frustrated Marketplace Christian?

The vast majority of the Church is comprised of marketplace people. They lead full, busy lives with 40 plus hours of work per week. Because their lives are necessarily less engaged in church activities, they have been traditionally viewed as less spiritual, causing them to often feel as if they are second-class spiritual citizens in the Kingdom of God.

This disenfranchisement of marketplace people has had many tragic effects upon the body of Christ. They find themselves spiritually bored and unsure of their gifts and callings. They lack a biblical understanding of how to blend passionate spirituality with their vocation. Most importantly, they have lost their sense of spiritual purpose and significance. This lack of vision has kept our marketplace people from taking their places of spiritual leadership, and as a result the church remains unprepared for the crises that face us in the decades ahead.

Have you longed to do more for God in ‘real’ ministry?

Do you wonder how to fulfill your spiritual calling and lay up heavenly rewards, even though little of your time is devoted to church activities?

REGIONAL MARKETPLACE CHRISTIANITY SUMMIT
coming to Central Virginia’s Greater Richmond Convention Center March 14 & 15, 2008

How to Discover God’s Purpose And Spiritual Calling For Your Life At Work!

In a series of paradigm-shattering presentations, businessman and entrepreneur of the year Bob Fraser (The Joseph Company) reveals how 97% of Christians are not called to full-time vocational ministry, but called by God to the marketplace! Using practical everyday examples, Fraser shares insights from his experience running a 250-employee software company which experienced revival and business success during his tenure as CEO.

Bob Fraser has a tried and tested vision for deep spirituality and passion for Jesus in the marketplace. He brings a fresh new understanding through his anointed business model that is based solidly on biblical foundations, as well as experiential knowledge. Bob masterfully bridges the gap between the board room and the prayer room with simple, profound principles that bring eternal meaning back into the daily experience of each employee, from the clerk in the mailroom to the most high-powered executive.

Bob has a profound grasp of the critical role that Christians in the marketplace will play in the end-time scenario that is rapidly unfolding. As well as addressing the subjects of creating wealth, the transfer of wealth into the Kingdom of God, and building cities of refuge — he also delves deeply into the heart and attitudes and disciplines so necessary to succeed in the end-time shaking; such as holiness, purity of motive, and the fasted lifestyle.

Year End National Bound4life Update

By matt | November 29, 2007

Covenant Friends,

As 2007 draws to a close I am pleased to report some exciting updates from Bound4LIFE. This year has been a pivotal stage of development in raising up a unified prayer movement in the earth for the ending of abortion. Having a small team of people dedicated to mobilization has made all the difference. Some recent mile markers include:

There is great momentum going into 2008. Beyond political debates, abortion and adoption are top of mind subjects with the success of the beautiful movie “Bella.” Our prayer is also for the movie “Horton Hears a Who” to strike a similar chord in the collective heart of the nation in March.

We believe 2008 will be a crucial year for Bound4LIFE and the pro-life movement. Since we began in October 2004, nearly 300,000 life bands have been distributed with the purpose of mobilizing the Bound4LIFE covenant-

PRAY, VOTE & OBEY

Our dream and goal is to raise up millions of Christians that will make this solemn commitment.

Rihop Update

By matt | November 20, 2007

(The following was copied from a Rihop email)

We are THRILLED to announce that we are able to go full speed ahead with the completion of RIHOP’s downstairs prayer room. It has been an incredible year (yes, we have been in Shockoe for 1 YEAR!) and we are happy that a solid foundation has been laid for the work of raising up this community-wide day and night house of prayer and worship. Our staff has increased steadily and Matthew and I are now able to reconnect with many of the pastors and leaders that we enjoy working with so much on a city-wide level. We have worked out most of the kinks with the city, which included convincing them we were NOT a night club (LOL) and have contracts for the remainder of the larger projects. HOWEVER, WE NEED YOUR HELP! Below you will find a list of items that we still need for the completion of our project as well as a letter from our volunteer coordinator, Jeff Gunther. We are targeting to have the prayer room complete by December 20th. Please read the letter below and review the ITEMS NEEDED LIST. You may have stuff laying around the house that is not in use that could help us immensely. There are a few tools that we need to have donated (or borrow). Of course, if anyone wishes to purchase items for donations, that would be greatly appreciated as well.

We are so close to seeing the opening of this day and night house of prayer. It is something that the Lord has allowed us to carry vision for since 1998. However, it has been a dream in the Father’s heart far longer. Imagine a place in the birth valley of Richmond where, day and night, the corporate “Church of Richmond” ministers TOGETHER to the heart of God, prays His will, and contends for His transforming power to ignite every arena of life in the Metropolitan Richmond area and beyond.

Please consider joining us in this effort through prayer, financial partnership, and voluteerism. Again, please read below and pray about what you can do to help open the doors and make this a reality. Financial gifts can be sent to The Common Thread/RIHOP, P.O. Box 36381, Richmond, VA 23235. You may also use the convenient paypal link below. Checks can be made payable to RIHOP.

DONATE NOW. Those giving a year-end donation of $50.00 or more will receive “Dimly”, a music CD with original songs by Paul Sell. Paul leads worship/prayer watches at RIHOP and is also the founder of HisArt.org. (more on our partnership with HisArt in our next email). This music CD will bless you, especially the song entitled “Common Thread” which is a beautiful picture of unity in the Body of Christ.

Blessings to you,
Matthew and Sherrie Moore and the RIHOP team

Join the rising cry!

Hello RIHOP Family, supporters and friends,

In an effort to complete our downstairs prayer room, this Saturday,
November 24 will be a RiHOP work day. We need all hands on deck if you
can be available.

We will begin having Saturday workdays until the end of the year.
With your participation, we will be literally building the House of
Prayer
together.

Our goal is to have the Prayer Room complete by December 20. Our goal
is an ambitious, attainable goal, and together we will see it done.

These Saturdays will be to help accomplish as much as possible as a
team. We will be sending out a description of projects that need to
be completed. We will also send out a schedule of work times available.

Please reply to jeffgunther@rihop.com if you can be there this
Saturday. Our day will begin at 8 am and end at 4 pm. There will be
donuts and lunch for all our volunteers.

God Bless you for your faithfulness and Commitment,

Jeff Gunther

50 Hour Prayer Siege

By matt | September 18, 2007

Between August 16 and August 18 ,2007 the Richmond International House of Prayer (Rihop) sponsored a 50 hour prayer siege to shift campus culture back to the Lord. Over three the days Rihop staff, campus ministers, students, and others gathered for two hour prayer meetings at Harvest Renewal Church in the heart of the Virginia Commonwealth University Campus (VCU). The cry for the Lord to reclaim campuses in Virginia and around the world. I had the opportunity to lead a small group from Northern Virginia down on Saturday. Here are a couple of pictures. If you would like to see more pictures or want to know more about the Richmond International House of Prayer (Rihop) please go to rihop.com.
